DRiP Haus Sets July Target For Mobile App Launch, Introduces Audio Support
The platform utilizes the Solana blockchain for payments, with data hosted on the decentralized storage protocol Arweave.
The creator platform DRiP Haus, built on Solana, is gearing up to launch its mobile application for Android and iOS devices in July, as stated by Vibhu Norby, the founder and CEO of Drip Labs. The launch is dependent on receiving approval from the respective app stores, with the application presently undergoing alpha testing.
The upcoming mobile application will include an integrated wallet that is automatically generated for users, greatly easing the process of joining the platform. This initiative is designed to improve the user experience and expand the platform's accessibility.
DRiP Haus empowers creators to share digital creations, such as artwork and music, and to receive payments and tips. The platform is expanding its offerings to include news, videos, and audio content, like podcasts. These additions will be available within the app and viewable in compatible wallets such as Phantom, though quality may vary.
"Being crypto-native media means you're presenting your assets to 100,000 Solana collectors daily. That's a small number for web2 media, but it's a significant portion in the crypto world," Norby explained.
He emphasized that, unlike traditional web2 subscription services that limit content access after a subscription ends, DRiP Haus allows users to maintain ownership of their content in their wallets.
The platform utilizes the Solana blockchain for payments, with data hosted on the decentralized storage protocol Arweave. While this setup allows users to access content directly, bypassing platform payments, Norby emphasized that the platform’s convenience and affordability would discourage piracy.
"We've thoroughly discussed the spectrum of encrypted concepts here, yet there's no foolproof method to prevent content piracy nowadays. Our greatest hope is to make using the app so convenient and affordable that there's no need to seek alternative sources that bypass these measures," he stated.
DRiP Haus has emerged as one of the most engaged platforms on the Solana blockchain, aside from DeFi applications, with a peak of 160,000 daily active wallets earlier this year. However, congestion on the Solana blockchain in April caused significant user experience issues. As a remedy, DRiP Haus shifted from automatic collectible airdrops to a manual claim process. Although this adjustment was crucial, it led to a decrease in the number of on-chain collectible mintings and daily active wallets, now down to 100,000.
