The Ethereum proof of work fork will deploy within 24 hours of The Merge according to a thread posted Monday on the Twitter feed.
ETHW mainnet will happen within 24 hours after the Merge, the @EthereumPow Twitter account posted on the thread on Monday:
An official announcement is expected one hour before the exact time of the network launch, and everything including final code, binaries, config files, nodes info, RPC, explorer, etc. will be made public when the time’s up.
The ETHW mainnet will begin at "the block height of the Merge block plus 2048 empty blocks" to ensure that the chainID converts to 10001 and that "the chain is the longest of ETHW.
“Therefore, the Merge block + 2049 will be the 1st block on ETHW that may contain any transactions,”
Many of the exchanges have already listed the forked ETHW, including Poloniex, Bitfinex, and Coinbase.
