Amazon has introduced Amelia, an AI assistant designed to help sellers grow their businesses by providing insights into their metrics and resolving issues. Currently in beta for U.S. sellers, the assistant is built on AWS’s Amazon Bedrock and is set to be rolled out more broadly across the U.S. and later in other countries and languages.

At launch, sellers can use Amelia to access sales data, and customer traffic information, and ask questions like “How is my business doing?” The AI will respond with a summary of metrics, comparing recent sales and website traffic to the previous year. Follow-up questions regarding specific products will also be supported.

Mary Beth Westmoreland, VP of Amazon’s Worldwide Selling Partner Experience, stated that Amelia aims to equip sellers with effective tools to manage their businesses efficiently. This initiative is part of Amazon's broader strategy to leverage generative AI to streamline business operations

The launch of Amelia follows Amazon's introduction of Rufus, an AI chatbot for consumers, and marks another step in the company's commitment to integrating AI across its platforms. Amazon is also utilizing generative AI to product recommendations and descriptions, further improving the overall experience for both sellers and customers.
