Artisse AI, a photo creation app leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), has raised $6.7 million in a seed funding round led by The London Fund. The app allows users to generate realistic photos of themselves by uploading selfies and using text or image prompts to create images across various settings and styles. Unlike some competitors, Artisse focuses on producing more photo-realistic images, positioning itself as an alternative to professional photography. The funding will be used for further development and expansion of the app.
Artisse AI has garnered attention and success, becoming a top photo app on the Google Play Store in various markets, including the U.S., U.K., Japan, South Korea, Canada, and Australia. The app has been downloaded over 200,000 times, and its images have reached an estimated 43 million people through social media.
The AI model behind Artisse takes into consideration various factors, including race, facial structures, skin color, lighting, camera type, camera angle, body posture, and scenery. This comprehensive approach aims to produce more realistic and diverse images.
Artisse AI offers a subscription model, with three tiers priced at $7, $15, and $40 per month, providing users with a specified number of photos. The startup has seen significant revenue growth, reaching $1 million ARR in December 2023, with plans to achieve $2.5 million ARR by this month.
The company is exploring additional applications for its AI technology, such as virtual fitting room tech for online shopping and a group photo feature that allows users to pose with friends or celebrities. The team is also considering ventures into shopping from AI photos and turning them into physical prints.
