Robin AI, an AI-powered legal copilot, has successfully raised $26 million in its Series B funding round, as demand for generative AI skyrockets within the legal sector. Temasek, a global investment firm based in Singapore, led the investment, joined by QuantumLight, Plural, and AFG Partners as other key investors.

Robin AI was founded in 2019 by Richard Robinson, a lawyer at Clifford Chance, and James Clough, a machine learning research scientist at Imperial College, Robin AI harnesses the capabilities of generative AI to streamline the contract drafting and negotiation process. Utilizing an innovative Microsoft Word add-in, the platform significantly reduces contract review time by up to 85%, allowing legal teams to work more efficiently and strategically.

The technology behind Robin AI combines Anthropic’s Large Language Model (LLM), Claude 2.1, and the platform's proprietary contract data from over 2 million contracts. This unique fusion of AI and machine learning allows for precise and rapid contract analysis while ensuring high levels of accuracy and quality. Notably, Robin AI collaborates with legal professionals to fine-tune the model, ensuring an optimal blend of technology and legal expertise.

Richard Robinson, CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the platform's success and emphasized the team's commitment to evolving Robin AI into a comprehensive legal AI service. He highlighted the platform's pivotal role in empowering law firms, irrespective of size, to access advanced legal services, thereby democratizing legal solutions for broader accessibility.

The platform's clientele has seen a remarkable 4x increase in customers and a substantial 5x boost in revenues in the past year. Robin AI has particularly attracted private equity firms due to the platform's agility in expediting deal closures and tracking investor obligations. Among its esteemed clients are Pepsico, PwC, Yum! Brands, AlbaCore Capital Group, and BlueEarth Capital.
